What else comes at a price?
Miranda is a high-class escort at an infamous agency in Sydney, and always in demand from their top clients. Although it’s a life she never imagined for herself, Miranda has mastered the art of seducing men and makes a good living from it.
Joe Tench, rich, powerful and alluring, owns the majority of the nightlife in Sydney and is a regular client of Miranda’s. He’s demanding, dominating and dangerous, but Miranda finds herself falling for his unexpected, yet enticing charm.
That is, until she meets the mysterious Tom Smythe, heir to a wealthy mining company, and becomes caught between her feelings for these two very different men.
But neither is what they seem, and when tragedy forces Miranda to embark on a journey of discovery she will find it difficult to escape from. What price will she pay for freedom?
A fascinating and fast-paced story about Sydney’s seedy adult entertainment underworld, from the pen of a former police officer
Just wow, I honestly was a little worried I wouldn’t like this book because it’s based in Australia, and from past books i’ve read that are, I haven’t always been a fan.
But this book has changed my view! I love it !!!
The suspense I was left with throughout the whole book made me not want to put the book down. I am so sad that it ended, now I have to patiently wait for book 2!!
Miranda is a hardass and I love women who aren’t afraid to take control of a bad situation and make it better for themselves.
A conversation between Miranda and Joe.
“Miranda, I have missed seeing your sweet face. And please, call me Joe. We’re past formalities by now, eh? Come. Let’s have a drink to celebrate me being in this shithole of a city.”
Miranda’s thoughts about Tom.
From where I’m standing I have an ideal view of his perfectt profile and his sexy-as-hell dimples when he smiles. I don’t think I’ve ever been around someone so beautiful.
Miranda is speaking to a group of people from the fashion catwalk.
“Well, all the models looked like stunned mullets out on the catwalk so it was hard to look at the clothes and not state at them. They all need a bloody steak as well.”
The song that suits this book is ‘Working For It by ZHU x Skrillex s THEY.’
I rate this book 5 stars.
